Cisco WLC disable 5ghz

Hello, I have a LAP1252AG-E-K9 managed by a WLC embedded in a Catalyst3750G. My question is the following: how can I disable the 5GHz radio module using the WLC (I desire leave only the 2.4GHz module). In addition : in case I put in the LAP only 3 2.4Ghz antennas the 5GHz module is automatically di.. Choose Wireless > 802.11a/n /ac or 802.11b/g/n > High Throughput to open the (5 GHz or 2.4 GHz) High Throughput page. Step 2: Select the 11n Mode check box to enable 802.11n support on the network. The default value is enabled. If you want to disable 802.11n mode when both 802.11n and 802.11ac modes are enabled, you must disable the 802.11ac. Band selection enables client radios that are capable of dual-band (2.4- and 5-GHz) operation to move to a less congested 5-GHz access point. The 2.4-GHz band is often congested. Clients on this band typically experience interference from Bluetooth devices, microwave ovens, and cordless phones as well as co-channel interference from other.

Specifies the local transmit power level on a 5-GHz, 802.11a radio. • On the 2.4-GHz radio, you can set CCK and OFDM power levels. On the 5-GHz radio, these keywords are not supported. • For the 802.11b/g radio, the milliwatt argument can be 7, 10, 13, 15, 17, or 20. For the 802.11a radio, the milliwatt argument can be 4, 7, 10, 13, or 16 The default settings for 5 GHz: the easiest way to change it to the best practise data rates can be done via SSH access. Do this change in a maintenance window! First, disable the network status, make your changes and re-enable it again: 2.4 GHz. config 802.11b disable network config 802.11b 11gSupport enable config 802.11b 11nSupport enabl Now for the RF settings in 5 GHz (802.11a/n/ac) Up top click on Wireless, next on the left click on the Bold 802.11a/n/ac, then select Network. 1. Overview After many deployments, reading most of Cisco's documentation, best practices, deployment guides, and after 150+ hours creating a tool to automate the deployment of Cisco 9800 Wireless Controllers to share with my team, I am sharing my thoughts about how these controllers *should* be configured. It should be mentioned that I use the GU

  6. Symptom: A AP radio, after encountering a radar event, may refrain from going back to its original serving channel for as long as 24 hours. As a result, if radar events are frequent, the 5GHz radios may, after some time, wind up on non-DFS channels. Conditions: Running 8.2MR1, 8.3, or above; using DFS channels in 5GHz; detecting radar events

Cisco Wireless LAN Controller. In Cisco WLC Release 8.0, The radio spectrum in question is a 20Mhz wide 5Ghz WLAN based in the UK using all available indoor UK channels: Configuring Optimized Roaming without RSSI from the WLC CLI. *You will need to disable your radios to complete this work! Cisco WLC 5Ghz channel Width is set to 20MHz, Cisco TAC told me to change it to 40MHz and I will see much faster speeds. Working with Tac on another issue and he noticed that the 5Ghz range channel width was set to 20MHz and he told me to change it to 40MHz Design for 5 GHz. As a result of 2.4 GHz overcrowding and lack of sufficient non-overlapping channels, my suggestion is to leverage 5 GHz as much as possible. Begin with disabling 2.4 GHz radios when channel overlap occurs. Of course, you will want to consult your WLAN design and perform validation after making the changes Yep, the 2.4Ghz junk band. My controller reports 2200+ interference sources on 2.4Ghz, while only around 50 on the 5Ghz band. Anyone trying to utilize 2.4Ghz is simply going to have a bad time. Use 5Ghz. Spend the time making 5Ghz bulletproof

It is important to note that 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz have different characteristics that must be taken into account when deploying dual-band APs (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz capable) access points. The 2.4 GHz signal can travel further and has better penetration capabilities than 5 GHz. Thus the radius of a coverage cell on 2.4 GHz is longer than on 5 GHz. The Cisco 5520 Series Wireless LAN Controller is a highly scalable, service-rich, resilient, and flexible platform that is ideal for medium-sized to large enterprise and campus deployments. As part of the Cisco Unified Access Solution, the 5520 is optimized for the next generation of wireless networks, 802.11ac Wave 2 Why 3800 Matters - Dual 5GHz XOR Radio = Best WLAN Performance XOR radio (AP-3800) won Cisco's 2017 Pioneer Awardfor RF Innovation - Here's Why AP2800/3800 has Dual 5 GHz- A dual 5 GHz AP creating micro/macro cells with the ability to beamform (using Client-Link) will significantly enhance all 802.11a,g,n, & .11ac Wave-1 Clients On your Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, you want to navigate to Wireless -> 802.11a/n or 802.11b/g/n (depending on which frequency you want to customize) -> Client Roaming. I do not even see that as an option. I do know Cisco recommends 25 clients per AP. I am also not sure how it decides what clients should use the 5ghz band or the 2.4ghz band. If it was 40 evenly spread accross the 2 bands it might not be so bad. Remember this is a 2504 WLC. i doubt it has as many options as the much larger WLCs d
